Beginning early this summer I’ll be participating in an innovative program by the Land Conservancy of West Michigan to involve artists in its conservation programs. Doing so will heighten awareness of the important work accomplished by the land conservancy.

Ten West Michigan artists will execute work during the summer based on their encounters with the landscapes and environments at LCWM preserves. This fall the works created by participating artists will be exhibited in two shows: the first in Douglas, Mich. in October and the second in November in downtown Grand Rapids.

Artists will write about their experiences on the LCWM website. Artists will also conduct demonstrations at selected LCWM preserves. And I’ll also post my reflections on the project here.
